Milestones
Milestone 0 - Team Development and Project Planning
In every team, it is crucial to develop a team charter which acts as an agreement between team members and commitment to the project. In addition, it is also important to create a planned project schedule to make sure your team abides by deadlines.
Milestone 1 - Objectives and Constraints
It is important to gather information pertaining to the management of a medical device and identify a set of objectives and constraints specific to a well-defined and unique design challenge. Objectives are attributes and/or behaviors that a design solution should have or exhibit and constraints are limits or restrictions to be adhered to.
Milestone 2 - Preliminary Research Report
While developing design solutions for problems relating to the gastrointestinal tract it is important to understand the most common reasons for complications following gastrointestinal surgery and understand why these complications may arise. Below is a report outling three major complications that can arise from a GI surgery.
Milestone 3 - Concept Generation
Creating unique preliminary sketches is an important aspect when generating concept solutions for your design. It allows the rest of your team to visualize your idea and from there truly understand the advantages and disadvantages of the idea.
Milestone 4 - Design Configuration
When configuring design it is important to describe both the form and function of your design solution, conceptualize a prototype, and describe how your design will interact with the existing medical device and/or the user.
